National Cheese Day: Celebrating with some delicious and cheesy snacks

If you’re a cheese lover, much like myself, then National Cheese Day is basically your favorite holiday. Cheese is good on just about anything, so what better way to celebrate National Cheese Day than with these delicious cheesy snacks!

In the following information, we will be taking a look at some ready to make frozen cheesy snacks, as well as some delicious recipes and things that you can make in the comfort of your own homes. If you’re looking for something new to make at home, then look no further! If you’re looking for some new party snacks that are ready to pop straight into your ovens, then still look no further.

National Cheese Day: These cheesy cheese snacks will be your new favorites

Starting out, let’s look at some recipes that you can make at home with the entire family, starting with a take on a classic cheese cracker that everyone knows and loves.

1. Homemade Cheddar Crackers (Ree Drummond/The Pioneer Woman)

Yes, this is a gourmet and home-made take on everyone’s favorite cheesy cracker snack, the Cheez-its! Personally, if Cheez-its are in my pantry, they surely won’t be for long because I will get my hands on the box and claim it as my own.

In terms of this recipe, Ree Drummond is my all-time favorite Food Network chef, and I’ve always wanted to try this recipe for myself as I saw her making these on her TV show, The Pioneer Woman.

Upon reading the baking instructions for these cheesy and delicious crackers, it seems like there’s not a whole lot of ingredients required, as well as steps. Basically, all that you’ve got to do is make the dough, refridgerate it for roughly an hour, and then roll the dough out and cut into little square shapes (and don’t forget to use that handy skewer or toothpick to make the signature and classic Cheez-it hole in the middle). Here is the recipe online.

2. Cheese Grits (Alton Brown)

Grits/Cream of Wheat are one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast, even though I don’t have it super often and haven’t in a good while in all honesty. It’s basically the blank canvas of all-things savory breakfasts, and let me tell you, anything you add to them will be delicious. Since it’s National Cheese Day, let’s just start by focusing on that for now.

This recipe seems easy enough: 5 minutes of prep time, followed by 30 minutes of cooking time. Now, call me crazy, but who doesn’t have that kind of time just to cut out a small chunk of your day to cook up a nice and cheesy (and super delicious as well) warm and hot meal?! Here is the recipe online.

3. Cheese Quesadillas (Paula Deen)

Obviously, everyone has had a quesadilla before and knows that it’s such a classic cheese-based dish that it 100% had to be on today’s list here. Quesadillas are such a delicious and awesome blank canvas to learn to cook on because you can put just about anything and any type of cheese in it, in order to cater it to your likes and/or dislikes as well.

In Paula’s recipe, she uses a good old classic (and one of my personal favorites) super sharp cheddar cheese/Mexican cheese blend, which typically consists of some sort of Monterey Jack white cheese mixed with cheddar as well.

Given that it’s Paula Deen’s recipe here, of course 4 tablespoons of butter are being used! Here is the recipe online.

National Cheese Day: Let’s take a look at some delicious store-bought products

1. Fancy Mac n Cheese (The Pioneer Woman)

Ree’s my favorite chef ever, besides my own Mom, so of course, I had to include yet another one of her recipes/products here. This time, it’s Mac n Cheese, yet another item that I couldn’t pass up putting on this list in some form or another.

Basically, this uses a whole bunch of different cheese, including Bleu, but let me tell you it’s freaking delicious and you barely even taste the Bleu cheese if you even taste it at all (I can’t recall tasting it when I tried this, even though I absolutely love bleu cheese). Here’s a little bit more about the product itself.

2. Totino’s Pizza Rolls

Yep, I’m including these on this list, so please don’t judge. These are such an underrated appetizer to serve at any sort of gathering that I don’t even know where to begin in all honesty. Totino’s has so many different flavors, with mine being the Pep/Sausage combo, but for the purposes of National Cheese Day, we’ll just stick with the original here.

There’s not much more to say about this product except go get yourself some! Here’s a little bit more about the product itself.

3. Farm Rich Cheddar Cheese Curds

Sure, this is something that you could make yourself at home, but who wants to go through all those steps? Farm Rich, in my personal opinion, has some of the best-frozen apps out there, minus TGI Friday’s in all honesty.

This particular product is made with real Wisconsin cheese, so what’s better than that? Enough said. Here’s a little bit more about the product itself.

Also for celebrating this wonderful day, just grab a hunk of cheese and eat it, or make the all-time classic lunch of grilled cheese! For a hack, try using a tiny bit of mayo on the bread for an even better crust on the outside of the bread!
