Sonic has gotten in on the fast food chicken sandwich game

When it comes to the fast food game, we sometimes forget that Sonic has more than just an awesome menu of shakes and drinks, they also have some great food items. And while we certainly know they have great deals with their Chili Cheese Dogs, now it seems like they are really getting in on the chicken sandwich craze.

According to Chew Boom, late in 2019 Sonic first tested their Chicken Slingers at locations in Kansas. Apparently the test was a success and now to kick off the summer months, they are making their play on chicken sandwiches a nationwide offering.

What are Sonic’s Chicken Slingers, exactly?

While these might be chicken sandwiches, the Chicken Slinger is actually a slider version, made in both an original and spicy flavor.

The Spicy Chicken Slinger is simply a piece of white meat chicken that has been breaded and fried and then topped with a spicy ranch and pickles. It is then sandwiched between a slider-sized brioche roll.

For the Original Chicken Slinger, we once again get a fried piece of white meat chicken. This time it is topped with just a plain mayo and pickles, before being sandwiched on the brioche roll.

These slider sized Chicken Slingers have a suggested price of $2.49 each, making them a tasty and inexpensive treat. And honestly, both of these Sonic sandwiches sound delicious. (As an added bonus, it seems that each sandwich has 350 calories or less, depending on which one you choose.)

If you are looking for a classic chicken sandwich in a smaller size, then you will definitely want to give these Slingers a try for yourself.

I can’t wait to give these a try for myself, especially as a fan of all things chicken sandwich related. And the fact that these are the size of sliders makes them even better, because then I can eat two without a bit of guilt.
