More recent food and drink discoveries to try

Undercover Chocolate Co.

Undercover Snacks makes sweet, quinoa-based snacks that are certified gluten-free, Non-GMO Project Verified, nut-free and kosher. Ultimately, they are all sweet and made with simple yet high-quality ingredients. My personal favorite is the Milk Chocolate Crispy Quinoa. A full bag is a little over 250 calories in total. This may be my favorite new snack discovery of 2020. And speaking of 2020, Undercover is already a 2020 NEXTY Award Winner.

Goldthread Plant-Based Tonics

Goldthread’s Plant-Based Tonics are expertly-crafted by founder and formulator William Siff, a clinical herbalist, ethnobotanist and licensed acupuncturis, with a mission to inspire people to drink more plants. Goldthread recently launched a new series of Power Packs. These packs contain synergistic beverage tonic pairings that are designed with a unique key function in mind to deliver powerful results for the body.

Goldthread Power Packs come with six premium tonics per pack and feature two SKUs that share similar properties. The full list includes the Immunity Pack (Hawaiian Ginger & Elderberry Defense), the Digestion Pack (Mint Condition & Turmeric Radiance) and the Energy pack (Schisandra Supreme & Japanese Matcha). These Power Packs are available for purchase on Goldthread’s website and cost $30 per six-pack.

Drink Wholesome

Drink Wholesome is a relatively new company, and it takes a simple, honest approach to protein powders. Its protein powders are made with 8 real food ingredients, including chickpeas, egg whites, and coconut, and nothing else. There are no artificial sweeteners, no artificial or “natural” flavors, no colors, no preservatives, no anti-caking or gelling agents, no emulsifiers, no stabilizers, nor any thickeners — no exceptions.

My personal favorite is the PB Chocolate Vegan Real Food Protein Powder, who officially launches as of June 15, 2020. Each bag includes 14 servings, weighing in around 1.5 pounds. Expect 20 grams of vegan protein per serving.

OneBttl

Need something put your Drink Wholesome-based beverage into? Check out Onebttl. Its “Best Dad Ever Stainless Steel Tumbler” is useful year-round, not just for Father’s Day. It is essentially a double-wall vacuum insulated tumbler, and will keeps drinks cold for up to 12 hours and hot up to 8 hours. Eco-friendly and reusable, it includes a leakproof and shatterproof lid, and its sizing ought to fit inside most standard cup holders.

OneBttl is intended for hand-washing, but it comes with a stainless steel straw, a straw brush and a gift box. All purchases through the official OneBttl website also come with a lifetime warranty.

Bedrock Bakers’ Pagels

Long Island, New York resident Steven Friedman is known to many as “The Pagel King.” Founder of the nutritionally-sound Bedrock Bakers, Friedman’s pagels — imagine a New York-style bagel, only paleo-friendly and gluten-free — are made with cassava flour, rather than a traditional bread flour with gluten.

Beyond All Elite Wrestling star MJF, another famous admirer of Friedman’s pagels are WWE Hall Of Famer Diamond Dallas Page who has gone on record saying: “Pagels are f’n amazing. Definitely a great gateway into eating Non-GMO and gluten-free, which I highly recommend.”
