If there is one treat that seems synonymous with summer, it would have to be the S’mores. These chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker treats are a campfire favorite, and yet it is also a flavor profile that seems to be popping up everywhere. And now Hostess seems to be joining the party with the help of their newest cupcake flavor.

In a press release from Walmart, we learned about this exciting offering from Hostess, and we were so excited, as we are always looking for new ways to enjoy the flavor of S’mores. At the same time, we learned that these cupcakes are actually an exclusive for Walmart, which means if you want to give this sweet treat a taste, you’ll want to head to your local store to snag a box.

As Chew Boom pointed out, these cupcakes officially drop on July 9, although it seems that boxes of this decadent dessert have already been spotted out in the wild.

Walmart is the exclusive summer home of Hostess S’mores Cupcakes

This take on the campfire treat features a yellow cake flavored like graham crackers, a center of marshmallow cream, and a layer of chocolate as the icing. Of course, you can’t have a Hostess cupcake without the iconic squiggle, which is present on every one of these S’mores treats.

Having had the chance to try these new S’mores Cupcakes, I admit that this is a very rich treat. The graham cracker flavored cake is as moist as you would hope for in a cupcake, and the chocolate topping is the exact same as the icing we find on many other Hostess cupcakes.

This cupcake is definitely on the sweeter side, but pair it with a glass of ice cold milk and you have a decadent treat for any summer night.

If you want to give these new Hostess cupcakes a taste for yourself, you’ll want to head to a Walmart near you. These limited edition S’mores cupcakes may not be around for long, but while they are, we can at least appreciate the magic that is this campfire staple.
