Looking for a new cooking competition? Check out Be Our Chef!

We love watching cooking competitions, and whether we are watching shows on Food Network, The Cooking Channel, or a streaming service, we love seeing chefs of all skill levels making masterpieces. And if you are looking for a fun, family-friendly competition, plus you love Disney, then you need to check out Be Our Chef on Disney Plus.

Hosted by The Office‘s Angela Kinsey, Be Our Chef is a competition featuring five families challenged to create epic Disney inspired dishes. With 10 rounds of competition, each family shows off their skills in the kitchen as they go head-to-head in epic battles inspired by different movies and characters within the Disney family.

From The Lion King to The Princess and the Frog, there are so many different stories represented with each episode. Of course, as we are all about the cooking too, I admit that some of these dishes were so impressive. In fact, I don’t think I could have created some of these dishes when I was the age that the kids in these families are, and seeing them offer up their input repeatedly was so inspiring.

Be Our Chef shows us just how fun family cooking can be

One of the best aspects of the series is getting to see these families connect with each other. Not only do they get the chance to explore the Disney park in order to learn more about the dishes and characters they are taking inspiration from, but they also get to work together in a way that is much fun to watch.

These families are all talented and passionate, with a flair for creating dishes that could easily show up on a Disney restaurant menu. And the fact that we get to watch them create these dishes is a blast.

As with other cooking competitions, there are plenty of challenges and of course there is a clock to watch, but there is something special about this one, as losing doesn’t mean it is the end of the road. In fact, that’s the best part, because even with a loss under their belt, these families get to come back and compete again for the chance at the grand prize.

And yes, we are a little jealous of that grand prize, as the winning family is treated to the ultimate Disney vacation.

According to Disney Plus, Be Our Chef is described as:

"“Be Our Chef,” a new Disney-inspired cooking competition series, invites five diverse food-loving families to create themed dishes, all inspired by the magic of Disney. Hosted by “The Office” star Angela Kinsey, families go head-to-head in a themed cook-off challenge, using family traditions and learned skills, all while representing their family through the Disney lens."

Once you watch this cooking show, you will find yourself hooked and waiting for more. And hopefully Disney will decide that we need more cooking shows in our lives and not only gives us more Be Our Chef, but maybe even creates other shows and competitions for us to enjoy.

Have you watched Be Our Chef yet? What did you think? And if you haven’t watched it yet, will you be giving it a watch? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
