First, we have to talk about why you need to keep your liquor cabinet (if you have one of those) stocked with The Botanist Gin and Cointreau. In terms of The Botanist Gin, this is a gin that is perfect for summer cocktails thanks to the “22 hand foraged botanicals,” that bring this liquor to life. And of course, we can’t forget the Cointreau, which is an orange flavored liqueur that helps to bring many drinks to life.

If you already have both of these bottles at home, but you’re looking for some cocktail inspiration, luckily we have some recipes you won’t want to miss out on. With these curated cocktail recipes, we get some of the best sips of the summer, and we are here for this kind of at home happy hour drinking.

Botanist Gin and Cointreau are giving us some perfect summer cocktails

With some epic cocktail names and delicious recipes, here are three of our favorites using either The Botanist Gin or Cointreau:

Basil Blues

  • The Botanist Gin 1.5 ounces
  • Simple Syrup 0.75 ounces
  • Fresh squeezed lemon juice 0.75 ounces
  • 5 Blueberries
  • 3 Leaves of Basil

To make this drink, you will need a shaker. In the shaker, you will first add the blueberries and the simple syrup together and then muddle them (this is basically crushing the blueberries). After muddling, add the rest of the ingredients, as well as ice, and then shake everything in the shaker. Once shaken, you will then strain your mix over a glass of ice and garnish it with basil and blueberries.

Fresh From the Market

  • The Botanist Gin 1.5 ounces
  • Honey Water 0.5 ounces (To make Honey water, you will want to do a 1 to 1 ratio of water and honey)
  • Fresh squeezed lemon juice 0.5 ounces
  • 2 or 3 strawberries cut in half
  • 3 to 5 leaves of fresh mint
  • Sparkling water 2 ounces

Once again you will need your shaker for this drink. In the shaker, add the strawberries and honey water and then muddle together. Once muddled, add the rest of the ingredients, as well as ice, and shake. Strain the mix over fresh ice and then top it off with a fresh splash of sparkling water (this gives it some effervescence).

Grilled Watermelon Margarita

  • Cointreau 1 ounce
  • Tequila 2 ounces
  • Fresh squeezed lime juice 1 ounce
  • Grilled watermelon syrup 0.5 ounces
  • Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice 0.5 ounces

In your ever present shaker, add all of your ingredients and then top with ice. Shake all of your ingredients and then strain everything over fresh ice. (You may want to rim your glass with a Tajin and salt mix). Garnish with a wedge of lime.

If you need the recipe for the watermelon syrup, we have you covered. In order to make this, simply cut fresh watermelon into slices and grill each side until you have grill marks. Let the watermelon cool and then blend it together with simple syrup. Fine strain the mix and you have fresh grilled watermelon syrup.
