McDonald’s is looking to Travis Scott to help them pique the interest for a younger consumer base. The Travis Scott Meal is launching on September 8th.

Travis Scott is currently one of the most famous and influential rappers in the world and McDonald’s is looking to take advantage of this popularity. According to Business Insider, McDonald’s and Scott are teaming together for a new meal deal consisting of Scott’s favorite meal from the fast food giant.

The Travis Scott meal is set to sell for just $6 and is being billed as “a setlist of Travis’ three McDonald’s favorites.” The meal starts with a Quarter Pounder with cheese topped with lettuce and bacon. This is supposed to be the way Scott prefers his QPC.

The burger comes with a medium-sized fries accompanied by a side of BBQ sauce because of course, you have to dip the fries. To wash everything down, the meal also comes with a Sprite, and McDonald’s recommends asking for extra ice (because all soft drinks taste better with extra ice).

With the Travis Scott collaboration, McDonald’s is hoping for Scott’s influence to help them reach the millennial and Gen Z markets. As McDonald’s US Chief Marketing Officer Morgan Flatley told Business Insider, people under the age of 34 are “becoming more and more challenging for brands to reach.”

For Scott, he has already used his influence this year when he partnered with Fortnite for a concert with a virtual version of Scott and hosted by Fortnite. McDonald’s is hoping to achieve success similar to the record viewers Fortnite achieved with Scott.

The Travis Scott meal will be available at McDonald’s locations beginning on September 8th and runs through October 4th. To help promote the promotion, Scott’s business and record label Cactus Jack has designed custom T-shirts for McDonald’s employees to wear. The two sides also want to contribute to local charities during the promotion, but the exact charities have not yet been determined.

The Travis Scott Meal is not something McDonald’s does very often

Scott is the first celebrity to have a meal or product named for them on the McDonald’s menu since Michael Jordan accomplished it in 1992. Scott seems very happy for the partnership and stated “I couldn’t be more excited to bring the Cactus Jack x McDonald’s collaboration to life We are bringing together two iconic worlds.”

Scott also confirmed the collaboration via his Twitter account on September 3rd.

McDonald’s is betting on Scott to help improve their connection with a younger audience and it is a pretty safe bet. This could the first of a few different collaborations with McDonald’s including a surprise or two during the meal promotion.
