Chrissy Teigen has been placed on bed rest and has to postpone her latest cookbook

Chrissy Teigen has been known for many things including her work as a model and social media influencer. Perhaps her best work has come as a best selling cookbook author. Teigen has two best-selling cookbooks with both Cravings and Cravings: Hungry for More.

Although Chrissy Teigen had announced work on a third Cravings cookbook, as reported by Delish, she, unfortunately, had to announce the postponement of the cookbook due to pregnancy complications.

Teigen and her husband John Legend are expecting their third child, but Teigen has admitted that this has been her most difficult pregnancy. She had already been placed on bed rest back in early September and the pregnancy has continued to deteriorate since then. With the pregnancy in a high-risk stage, she has made the choice to postpone the cookbook as well as some other commitment she already had scheduled.

Chrissy Teigen has turned Cravings into more than just simply cookbooks or recipes

Work on the third Cravings cookbook had just been announced by Teigen earlier this month. She had announced on Twitter that she had begun working with previous collaborator Adeena Sussman on the third installment. Chrissy Teigen had also mentioned she would be incorporating more dessert recipes in this book to stretch herself outside of her comfort zone.

Unfortunately for Teigen and Sussman, the latest Cravings cookbook is going to have to wait. It is wise for her to put her baby’s health first, but she was still admittedly disappointed with the news.

The first two Cravings cookbooks have helped Teigen launch a brand behind the concepts of cooking and entertaining products. She has product lines that are currently being sold in Target stores. Many of the products are more affordable versions of home cooking staples such as cast iron and aluminum pans. There are everyday items like spatulas and tongs, but also more luxurious items such as a Tajine. On top of this, she now has a popular Cravings website and an Instagram page featuring tips and recipes.

Most importantly, the cookbooks have given us recipes that are approachable, sometimes simple, and sometimes very unique. Flavors are common for all of the recipes and the dishes range from anything as simple as John Legend’s breakfast sandwiches which sound simple, but it teaches you to use ground pork to make your own homemade sausage patty for the sandwich. There’s also a recipe for Kings Hawaiian mini Cubano sandwiches which I loved.

The recipes in Teigen’s cookbooks range from appetizers to entrees to sides, and then range from healthy to totally indulgent. Hopefully the third cookbook, once available, will be just as good.
