Let the battle between Grubhub, Lyft, and Uber begin!

Lyft and Uber have long been rivals in the ride-sharing world, and now these two titans are going head-to-head to compete for your food delivery heart as well. Lyft is teaming up with Grubhub to try to siphon away customers from the Uber Eats service, and they have a grand idea of just how to do it.

According to the official press release, anyone signed up in the Lyft Pink program will be offered a complimentary Grubhub+ membership.

The Grubhub+ program gives members a one-of-a-kind benefits program for food delivery and they have said that the program has doled out nearly $300 million in rewards so far in the weirdness that is 2020.

Can this new partnership provide an uppercut to Uber Eats?

Judging from the press release, that seems to be the mission.

Uber Eats has continued to expand its food delivery footprint, getting an unexpected boost when the coronavirus curtain descended upon America earlier this year. Grubhub is not far behind, but with teaming up with Lyft to provide perks even Uber Eats can’t handle, it’s becoming abundantly clear that these delivery titans are heading for all-out war.

One of the king perks of the Grubhub+ program is the Unlimited free delivery, which will allow Lyft Pink customers the opportunity to dodge the nasty delivery fee tacked on to their final bill.

Oh, and they’re getting into the charity game as well, matching proceeds to the Grubhub Community Relief Fund.

I’m pretty sure that Uber Eats is (slowly) becoming a good neighbor, but is it under the same level as Grubhub?

In any case, this partnership will surely lead to a response from Uber Eats, who will no doubt be throwing free delivery and other perks at its customers to try to stave off the Grubhub and Lyft threat.
