Del Monte has pink pineapples which are rare, sweet, and meticulously grown

Have you ever looked at some of the rare fruit such as cotton candy or grape soda flavored grapes and wished you could have something just as similar to add your favorite fruit salad mix or cocktail? According to Pop Sugar, pink pineapples are a thing and Del Monte has them. Right now, everyone has the opportunity to get their hands on them.

Del Monte has officially named these beauties the Pinkglow Pineapple. They look extremely tasty and sweet as they almost look like cotton candy inside of a pineapple shell. They are considered to be sweeter than regular pineapples and another plus is that they are less acidic. Del Monte describes them as having candy pineapple aromatics which to means it would be perfect for your next adult beverage or mocktail. They are perfect for either entertaining or just enjoying on your own.

Del Monte does not grow their Pinkglow Pineapples easily or even in the U.S.

The pink pineapples are grown in Costa Rica on a select farm in the South-Central region. Right now, they are only available through Fresh Del Monte.

In order to grow the next crop, the crowns are removed from each pineapple before they are shipped and they are replanted for new pineapples to grow. It takes 20 to 24 months for the pineapples to grow. Needless to say, supplies are limited.

The Pinkglow Pineapple can be purchased exclusively online. They range anywhere from $29.00 to $49.00 per order which includes one pineapple, a certificate of authenticity, and a specially decorated cargo box. With the premium price, I would probably not recommend using the pineapple as a topping for your pizza. It would work as a great addition to a meat skewer or barbecue dish. All I know for sure is I would love to taste one.
