Taco Bell is once again giving us free Doritos Locos Tacos
Thanks to Mookie Betts, Taco Bell will be giving us free tacos this month
It almost is starting to feel like an annual right of passage for a free taco. Once again, as reported by Chewboom, Taco Bell is running its “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion in conjunction with Major League Baseball and the World Series. The end result is a free and tasty Doritos Locos Taco from Taco Bell.
If you are unfamiliar with the promotion, it almost guarantees a free taco during the course of baseball’s World Series. As long as any player has a stolen base during the series, which lasts at least four games, Taco Bell will give customers a free Doritos Locos Taco while supplies last.
Usually, the tacos are given out on a designated day which falls after the series would be complete. This year, free taco day is Oct. 28 so mark your calendars!
Although somewhat simple, the Doritos Locos Taco is nothing to turn your head away from. The taco consists of a Doritos Nacho Cheese shell, ground beef, shredded lettuce, and then topped with shredded cheese. The Doritos shell is definitely the show stopper for this taco. It normally costs $1.89 so it is a pretty nice perk to receive one for free, especially because there’s no purchase is required for your free taco.
Taco Bell has made a habit of giving away free tacos because of the World Series
Mookie Betts had the stolen base to guarantee the free taco in this year’s World Series and this was his second time in the last three years that he had perhaps the most important stolen base in the World Series (it’s also bittersweet to watch as a Red Sox fan).
This year the feat was accomplished in the first game so we do not have to wait in suspense. It’s at least the most important for foodies. This is the ninth straight year for Taco Bell to hand out free tacos with the “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion.
There is a new twist on the promo this year as this year registered members of the Taco Bell app can already secure their free taco.
There is a limit of one per person both via the app and in person, but it doesn’t mean you cannot create your own party by adding multiple tacos and burritos to your order or perhaps one of their quesadillas.
