Mountain Dew is attacking taste buds with a new fiery habanero hot sauce
Mountain Dew has been always been the soda not afraid of taking risks and trying new things. From different Dew flavors to energy drinks and now Mountain Dew has taken their innovation to a completely new level. Mountain Dew now has a hot sauce sure to set fire to the tongues of all of its fans. If you are as excited as I am just raise your hand.
Mountain Dew’s history of innovation is taken to the extreme with a hot sauce that took time and attention to develop. The company ran a poll on both Facebook and Twitter for fans to choose the type of flavor to be featured for the hot sauce.
The choices were Peri-Peri, Fatalii, Habanero, and Datil. Fatalii and Habanero is a tough personal choice and those are the two types of peppers and sauces to receive the highest votes in the polls. Habanero came out as the winner and it is probably the most popular and common of the true spicy pepper hot sauces.
Mountain Dew has partnered with Houston based hot sauce maker iBurn for this new hot sauce. The hot sauce has a nice balance of heat and Mountain Dew’s signature citrus flavor. Each bottle features non-caffeinated Mountain Dew mixed into the fire.
Mountain Dew worked with NBA star Joel Embiid to develop a worthy hot sauce
Along with iBurn, Mountain Dew has also partnered with fellow hot sauce enthusiast Joel Embiid from the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid was included in the development of the sauce flavor and had this to offer:
"We sampled so many different flavors, spices, and peppers while making the sauce. It was crazy!"
The new MTN Dew Hot Habanero Hot Sauce is only going to be available in limited quantities. The company will only have 500 total bottles available and they will only be for promotional use.
If you want an opportunity to get your hands on yours, you will have to follow MTN Dew’s social channels and comment on what you will put your hot sauce on (I put it on just about everything). Fans will be chosen to be surprised with a bottle of their own.
