It turns out that even after a few years, there are still things we can learn about our Great British Bake Off judges and hosts. And the latest surprise seems to revolve around one of its current hosts, Noel Fielding.

Noel has been a host for the beloved baking series for a few seasons now, and while he has made us laugh, it seems that the one thing he hasn’t done before is make us curious as to how old he is. But after performing a dance for his fellow host and the remaining bakers in the tent, it seems that he finally admitted that he is getting close to 50-years-old. (Cue all the shock!)

According to Heat World, this hint at how old Noel is led a bit of digging to figure out exactly how old the host is. And it turns out that he is actually 47!

Viewers of the Great British Bake Off quickly took to social media to share their shock over how old Noel is and honestly, I feel the same way. After all, Noel doesn’t look like he is in his 40s, let alone nearly 50.

For many viewers, the surprise over his age was enough to have them saying this was the biggest shock of the week for them. It seems that for as much as we may enjoy watching the Great British Bake Off, we don’t actually do a lot of research when it comes to who is on the show beyond what the series reveals to us.

The fact that Noel is a year older than his co-host, Matt Lucas is not the reveal we expected from this week’s episode, but apparently it is the news that we needed to get so many of us talking.
