Need a quick list of the grocery stores open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? We’ve got your back!
Whether you forgot to purchase an important ingredient or need a last-minute item, it’s important to know which grocery stores are open on major holidays — and it doesn’t get any bigger than Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The holiday season is always an extremely stressful and busy time! And this year, let’s just say lit’s not any easier. In fact, let’s not sugar coat it! The year 2020 has been rough! The last thing we need is to show up at a store to find out it’s not even open.
Imagine that! The hectic drive to the store, dealing with holiday shopping traffic or angry people, just to park your car and realize that the store is closed! Avoid this! Keep this list handy in case you need to run to the store at the last minute!
Grocery stores open on Christmas Eve
Fortunately, most massive retailers are open on Christmas Eve, this includes:
- Walmart
- Target
- Amazon Fresh
- Costco
Need more stores? Sources are reporting that these will also open for business and will be ready to serve you on the day before Christmas.
- Big Lots
- CVS
- Walgreens
- Dollar General
- Rite-Aid,
- Sam’s Club
- Aldi
Some of the stores above are even offering same-day delivery and pick up (such as Amazon and Walmart).
Please note: Hours to all stores listed here vary by location! Most of the above will be closing earlier than usual, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. are popular times I have spotted. Keep this in mind in case you need to stop by a store quickly.
I know most Target stores close at 8 p.m., while most Walmart stores will be closing at 6 p.m. sharp.
Grocery stores open on Christmas Day
So what about Christmas Day? The list becomes very short.
- Convenience stores such as 7-Eleven
- Albertson (limited hours)
- CVS
There may be more, but these are the few that we found confirmation for.
Needless to say, if you need something last minute, you better realize it before Christmas Day, just to be safe!
