J Balvin will not be releasing McDonald’s themed merchandise for his fans
J Balvin and McDonald’s had a highly successful meal collaboration in 2020. Similar to what McDonald’s did with Travis Scott, the partnership started with the meal and was supposed to continue with dual-branded merchandise. Although the meal was very popular, there is sad news for people waiting for ordered items such as sheets. According to Mashed, Balvin and his team have canceled all of the merchandise.
The J Balvin meal at McDonald’s included a Big Mac, fries with ketchup (a little boring), and an Oreo McFlurry (this assumed your local McDonald’s had the soft serve machine working). After the launch of the meal, J Balvin and McDonald’s announced another collaboration for merchandise. The merchandise went up for sale via J Balvin’s website.
J Balvin and McDonald’s were great on your plate but not as a hat on your head
Much like the McFlurry itself, the planned merchandise was not ready for everyone. Balvin’s management service Vibras Lab officially canceled the planned collection due to what they are calling “production issues.” They seem to be unhappy with the quality of the merchandise.
Fret not J Balvin fans. While all orders will go unfulfilled, all customers will get a refund along with a note from J Balvin and a beanie. Although this may not be as good as the temporary tattoo of a J Balvin meal receipt, something is better than nothing.
The merchandise was supposed to include hats, sweaters, rings, and watches. On top of that, items such as blankets, bedsheets, and Big Mac slippers had been part of the collection. The items were to be a blending of Balvin’s love of vibrant colors and his love for McDonald’s food. Hopefully, you ordered a McNugget body pillow from Travis Scott’s collection when it was available. You can cry over the lost Balvin merchandise for consolation.
