Now this how you make “bad publicity” work in your favor! After dealing with a lawsuit that claims Subway’s tuna subs are not real tuna, Subway is turning the tables with a new tuna deal that’s as real as it gets.

A lawsuit surfaced last month accusing the company of serving tuna subs with “anything but tuna.” Yikes! That’s a bold accusation. One that needs some strong evidence behind it. Simply put, it had us thinking here at Guilty Eats.

I have to admit, I panicked for a bit. I love the fast food chain’s tuna subs (and all of their subs, really). However, several lab tests concluded that the tuna wasn’t real, or so say the claims. Subway shut down these claims quickly and was, frankly, appalled by them. The tuna is 100% real, Subway says.

What did you think about the claims? Did you believe them or were you on Subway’s side the entire time?

As you may imagine, this kind of publicity has the potential to really hurt the fast food chain in sales, particularly its tuna subs sales– well, not if they can help it!
