The Texas winter storm halted many services, including food delivery. Are Uber Eats, DoorDash, and others back on? Here’s what we know!

The storm we all knew was coming, but didn’t think it would hurt the state as much as it did has come and gone! However, despite the storm being over and temperatures back to normal (for Texas, anyway), many Texans are still dealing with the aftermath — from flooded homes due to ceilings caving to thousands still dealing with no power or water.

During times like these, foodies are used to relying on Uber Eats, DoorDash, and other food delivery services for a warm meal. You have to give it up for workers in this industry, they bring our meals to us so we don’t have to go out!

Unfortunately, the storm severely affected this. With no power, everyone sought out fast food joints for food. As someone who lives in Texas, I got to see firsthand how crazy things got –and those lines to Burger King, McDonald’s, and pretty much everywhere else, were massive. And I mean massive.

Of course, the lines were only massive if the fast food location was open, and not many at all were. And food delivery services?  Forget it! There was no one out there driving around delivering food. Uber Eats and others shut down, but have they opened back up since?

Are food delivery services back on again in Texas?

In short, yes! This weekend I noticed Uber Eats and others were back out on the road. They were all extremely busy, though. Expect to see longer wait times and fewer drivers available these next few days, but by Wednesday,  Feb. 24, we are predicting things to fall back into a  normal we are used to.

With people back to work, school, and grocery stores fully stocked, you should see more people available and shorter wait times by mid-week!
