The newly discovered (at least to us) Leprechaun Frappuccino from Starbucks is giving the beloved McDonald’s Shamrock Shake a run for its money! Have you enjoyed both? Which do you prefer?

Foodies, let’s forget about the ongoing chicken sandwich wars for a minute (KFC is forever the winner in my book)! There’s a new debate in the foodie world: St. Patrick’s Day drink vs St. Patrick’s Day drink.

That’s right, two St. Patrick’s Day-themed drinks appear to be battling out for your taste bud’s heart. Which will win? Read on to learn about which one, how to order a Leprechaun Frappuccino from Starbucks, and which we personally prefer.

We already know and love the Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s. I was shocked that it had such a small and limited release a couple of years back, but it has returned just about everywhere this year, and we love it!

The Shamrock Shake features vanilla soft serve blended with the iconic Shamrock flavors and a whipped topping. Does it get any better than that? Maybe. Let’s find out.

How to order the Leprechaun Frappuccino from Starbucks

According to PopSugar, here’s how you can order a Leprechaun Frappuccino from Starbucks to test it out:

  • Order your choice size of a Matcha Green Tea Creme Frappuccino with peppermint syrup
  • Have your barista add a layer of whipped cream at the bottom of the cup
  • Add another layer of whipped cream to the top
  • Add caramel crunchies to the top

You are set! Simple enough, wouldn’t you say? I love when secret menu drinks are nice and easy.

So which is best in our humble opinion? Sorry, Starbucks! The Leprechaun Frappuccino is yummy, but it doesn’t beat the iconic taste of the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. But my favorite springtime drink? The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry has my vote!
