In last week’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen, Jordan managed to make it through an elimination despite the fact Gordon Ramsay had every reason to send her home. She had been up for elimination before and it should be obvious by now she is an inferior chef when compared to the rest of the Red Team.

Yet despite that, Ramsay let her stay and instead sent home Lauren, a chef with way more potential to be a head chef someday then Jordan will ever have. It was a move that left many fans scratching their heads and wondering what he is thinking.

And now Chef Ramsay has done it again.

In episode 9 of Season 19, it was back to the teams having to prove why they belong in Hell’s Kitchen during dinner service, which happened to be steak night. While the Red Team had their best service of the season, the Blue Team was a wreck almost from the moment the doors opened. And most of the reasons came back to Mark.

Mark should have been the one sent home from Hell’s Kitchen.

Before service even began Mark was asking questions about poaching lobster and cooking basics that any sous chef should know like the back of their hand. And things didn’t get better once service began with Mark unable to fry an egg correctly or get any of the timing down to help his team.

In other words, Mark was a disaster during service and in way over his head. He has shown he is simply not ready to be a head chef at a restaurant and was the painfully obvious choice to go home.

However, instead of sending Mark home, Chef Ramsay decided to make Adam pack his bags and take the long walk down the Hell’s Kitchen hallway. Which makes absolutely zero sense.

Yes, Adam was an a**hole and arrogant and didn’t work very well with others, including the members of his own team. But he had actual talent as everyone saw earlier in the season. With some work and guidance, he could easily run a Hell’s Kitchen in Lake Tahoe. Mark? Not so much.

So why did Ramsay send Adam home? Your guess is as good as mine. Since I’m not a chef maybe he sees something in Mark the rest of us don’t. Or maybe he thinks Mark can rebound and somehow get better. Who knows?

The point is that unless Ramsay opens his eyes and sees that he’s sending home the better chefs over the inferior ones, eventually he’s going to end up giving the job to someone who just isn’t qualified. And that could be a disaster waiting to happen.
