Next up: let’s travel to Maine and Maryland for some more added deliciousness!
19. Maine
Food Item/Food Dish: Lobster Roll (surprise, surprise)
Where to Enjoy: Red’s Eats or Bob’s Clam Hut (as above)
I’m sure that it’s no surprise to everyone that a Lobster Roll is not only Maine’s top sandwich but also Maine’s top must-try unique food alike. Whether you’ve had one of these things or like them or not, it’s still a clear classic, and not even a close run at that one. Enjoy a Lobster Roll, all while sitting outside and enjoying the water-side, ocean-front view.
Red’s Eats is one of Maryland’s most classic eating establishments, being open on Route 1 since the early, super early years of 1954 out in Wiscasset. In 2015, in fact, it was reported that Red’s Eats goes through 14 tons of lobster for their classically delicious rolls during their six-month season. Ho-ly Cow! Cool!

20. Maryland
Food Item/Food Dish: Crab Cakes
Where to Enjoy: Timbuktu Restaurant
Crab Cakes: broiled or fried (both are just equally as delicious). Also, Maryland-style crab cakes are different ones that you’ll find into your home states, grocery stores, and beyond; instead of normal seasonings, Maryland-style crab cakes use Old Bay Seasoning (includes thing like celery salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and paprika) and use freshly-caught blue crab straight from the Chesapeake Bay.
If freshly-made Crab Cakes don’t sound mouth-wateringly delicious, then I don’t know what to say..
