We are exactly at the halfway mark here with all of our special must-try state foods. If you’re just as excited as we are, then stay along for the ride, because there’s so much more delicious food to come!

If any of these must-try foods is better in your home state, do let us know!

Next up: let’s travel to Missouri and Montana for some more added deliciousness!

25. Missouri

Food Item/Food Dish: Toasted Ravioli

Where to Enjoy: Salt + Smoke

Toasted Ravioli is probably one of the best appetizers; in fact, if there was a Mount Rushmore of Fried Food, this would surely be up there on the list of them all. In case you’ve been living under a rock your entire life and don’t know what Toasted Ravs are, they’re actually breaded and deep fried; typically, you have a choice of sausage or cheese when you order them, but listen to me when I tell you this: the cheese ones are superior (do yourself a favor and order those ones).

Sometimes in Missouri, these are served an Alabama-style white BBQ sauce, as illustrated in the first slide here; however, marinara sauce is the way to go (although I’ve never tried the white BBQ, I’m sure it is good, though).

26. Montana

Food Item/Food Dish: Huckleberry Ice Cream

Where to Enjoy: Literally Anywhere

Huckleberries are of very close resemblance to blueberries; they have that signature and sweet deep purple color and flavor. Locals to Montana will eat these tiny little fruits in just about anything and everything out there: jams, jellies, pancakes, and yes, even ice cream.

There’s a local ice cream parlor there called Wilcoxson’s Ice Cream, and upon doing research, if you don’t go here on your visit to Montana, don’t even bother coming at all, or at least that’s what the locals say. They have chocolate covered huckleberry ice cream bars and boy do they look mouthwatering.
