Phew….are you tired yet? Are you hangry yet? Let’s continue onto this amazing food-related journey, where we’re discovering what’s the best thing to eat from every state. Eat up, folks!

Let us know down below which must-try foods are making your mouth water!

Next up: let’s travel to North Carolina and North Dakota for some more added deliciousness!

33. North Carolina

Food Item/Food Dish: Lexington-Style BBQ (anything meaty)

Where to Enjoy: Barbecue Center

Any good barbecue debate always revolves around just one thing: the sauce. Here with Lexington-Style BBQ, the sauce itself is more vinegar-based with a surprisingly tangier taste to it than most other sweeter one(s). There’s always some sort of secret spices as well, that certainly make the meaty, tangy goodness what it is.

Barbecue Center, where the best North Carolinian Lexington-style BBQ is according to all of the locals, has been in operation since the 50’s and has always been a fan-favorite ever since.

Food Item/Food Dish: Cheese Buttons

Where to Enjoy: Ukrainian Cultural Institute

Cheese buttons, really? There’s nothing about this that sounds bad to me. I mean, come on, these are essentially tiny little Ukrainian-style potato flour dumplings filled to the brim with some creamy, to the gills, cottage cheese, pan-fried in some delicious and buttery  butter, and finally topped with some more cheese, scallions, and/or sauteed onions. The final touch? A creamy sour cream drizzle. What could be better? Nothing, I tell you. I must go find some of these, seriously.
