Which state do you live in and what are your favorite foods? Let’s discuss!

Next up: let’s travel to Arizona and Arkansas for some more added deliciousness!

3. Arizona

Food Item/Food Dish: Sonoran Hot Dog

Where to Enjoy: Nogales Hot Dogs

What is a Sonoran Hot Dog? Well, folks, a Sonoran Hot Dog includes the following: a hot dog wrapped in bacon (okay, you had me there already), pinto beans, grilled onions, jalapeño peppers, mustard, and mayonaise. That being said, it seems as if ketchup and relish-laced hot dogs aren’t a common thing out in the Arizona desert. Sonoran Dogs are also typically served with a roasted yellow chili pepper on the side (but I’m sure putting it on the dog itself would be just as delicious)!

Sonoran Hot Dogs are commonly referred to as Mexican Hot Dogs, closely resembling some Mexican street food flavors alike.

4. Arkansas

Food Item/Food Dish: Fried Pickles

Where to Enjoy: Sassy’s Red House

Fried Pickles are a classic fried appetizer that, if you love pickles, you love nonetheless. It’s also started showing up at State Fairs and other festivals of the same kinds. The best way to eat them? Dipped or drenched in some delicious ranch or a spicy chipotle ranch the same. Creamy, spicy ranch, mixed with sour, and deep-fried pickles are such a classic combo that you simply can’t beat.

Sassy’s Red House out in Fayetteville is one of the most classic locations in Arkansas to get this delicious app. It’s origins can go back to 1963 when Bernell “Fatman” Austin of the Duchess Drive-In first tried this fried concoction out, selling them for 15 cents for an entire basket of 15  to the employees of the neighboring pickle factory, called Atkins Pickle Plant. What a cool fact!
