Personally, I think that it’s always super fun to look up some iconic foods, restaurants, and other things of that nature when traveling somewhere, or if you’re just geographically food curious. Let’s keep on this journey of discovering just that!

So far, which must-try food is one that you suspect to be your new fave?!

Next up: let’s travel to California and Colorado for some more added deliciousness!

5.California

Food Item/Food Dish: Avocado Toast

Where to Enjoy: Dinette

I think we all know what Avocado Toast is, and whether we’ve tried it or not, we certainly do know that it’s quite the trend since the day it first came to light. California just seems to be the Avocado Toast capital of our country, and in all honesty, I’m not mad about it.

Over at Dinette in LA, your avocado toast will start with a gigantic piece of Texas toast. Next up, lime-ridden avocado is topped with some classic crushed red pepper flakes, parsley, and finally adorned with some lovely flakes of salt. While some say you may need a fork and a knife to eat this, I just say go in with your bare hands; it always tastes better, am I right?! Come on….

6. Colorado

Food Item/Food Dish: Rocky Mountain Oysters

Where to Enjoy: The Fort

Don’t worry if you don’t like oysters because in case you’re unfamiliar, these aren’t actually oysters; Rocky Mountain Oysters are bull calf’s testicles (yum?). This is also the perfect type of appetizer for you if you don’t eat or like seafood because it’s not seafood.

Rocky Mountain Oysters are typically sliced, breaded, and then deep-fried to a crispy golden perfection. This is definitely a favorite to a lot of people, and while I’ve never tried them myself, I do wonder what they taste like. Anybody know?
