So far, have any of these state special foods caught your eyes? If not, then fear not because we’ve only been to six states so far, and still have forty-four left to go.

Which must-try food have you never had before? Which have you had?

Next up: let’s travel to Connecticut and Delaware for some more added deliciousness!

7. Connecticut

Food Item/Food Dish: White Clam Pizza Pie

Where to Enjoy: Frank Pepe

White Clam Pizza Pie seems to be a true Connecticut favorite to many and all. It mainly features some fresh creamy melty and delicious mozzarella cheese, garlic, and deliciously fresh rubberneck clams, olive oil, and parsley. Some locations in Connecticut also top it with Romano cheese in addition to the mozzarella; however, I’m sure both taste just as equally delicious.

Frank Pepe actually has several locations around the state, so don’t worry, I’m sure there’s one in your area. In fact, you can check right here for a list of locations nearest to where you live!

8. Delaware

Food Item/Food Dish: Scrapple

Where to Enjoy: Wilson’s General Store

What the what is Scrapple? Is it a dish? A type of sandwich?A spice? Actually, it’s none of the above. Scrapple is something that is basically just unique to Delaware. Scrapple is something that Delaware has created and claimed as their own.

What is Scrapple you may be asking yourself. Well, folks, Scrapple is a meat. It’s made up of cornmeal, spice, and pork parts, all smushed into a patty-type form and pan-fried. It’s quite the well-known and loved staple at Delaware diners all across the state. The best topping for such a unique meat? Ketchup, maple syrup, or simply nothing at all.
