How do you know your favorite reality television series has made the big time? When they decide to gather some of the best and most memorable contestants from past seasons and release it as an “all-star” version. Which is exactly what Food Network is doing with their hit series The Great Food Truck Race.

For those not in the know, The Great Food Truck Race sees teams operate a food truck (hence the name) and compete to see who can make the most money. That’s right. Instead of who can make the best tasting dish, whether you win or lose is based entirely on how well you can promote your truck and how much cash you can make. The series has been a perennial ratings hit for Food Network since it premiered in 2010, all with Chef Tyler Florence as the host.

Now, if it feels like we just finished watching a new season of The Great Food Truck Race, you would be right. Season 13 wrapped up on April 11 and took place entirely in Alaska of all places. But as we all know, Food Network is never one to wait so they have announced via press release that Season 14 will be arriving June 6 and will be an All-Star edition.

The Great Food Truck Race: All-Stars will see seven winning teams return for the chance to be crowned the Ultimate Food Truck Race Champion, which I guess is like winning Tournament of Champions but with wheels and oil changes.

The Great Food Truck Race: All-Stars will take place in San Francisco.

In addition to being the first all-star edition of The Great Food Truck Race, Season 14 will also take place entirely in and around the city of San Francisco. This will be the first time the series has stuck to a single location for a whole season.

The location should make Florence very happy as he makes the Bay area his home. He owns the Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco and some would argue that the whole food truck craze got its beginnings in the city by the bay. (Insert Journey soundtrack here.)

The season will begin in Fisherman’s Wharf and from there move to Napa Valley, the Redwoods, Ocean Beach, the Chase Center and and finally Chinatown. The winning team, in addition to the considerable bragging rights that go with the title, will win $50,000.

The six-episode The Great Food Truck Race: All-Stars premieres on Sunday, June 6 at 9 PM on Food Network.
