Gordon Ramsay: Indoor dining returns at his restaurants next week
By D. Goodman
No business, no matter how big or small, has been spared by the COVID-19 pandemic. That includes superstar chefs like Gordon Ramsay and his restaurants.
The last year has been tough for everyone, of that there is no question. But for the people who own, operate, and make their living serving food to hungry customers, it has been particularly brutal.
Thanks to the lockdown and the lack of indoor dining, Ramsay estimated that his various restaurants have lost upwards of $80 million. Even for a celebrity chef like Ramsay, that is a huge number that has no doubt caused all kinds of ramifications for him and the people who work for him.
However, there is a light at the end of this very dark tunnel. Vaccinations are on the rise and as a result, the numbers all seem to be headed in the right direction. Life is slowly, cautiously returning to some kind of normal.
And that means the return of indoor dining! Remember those carefree days? When you could go into a restaurant, sit down and order a meal? While some states have resumed the practice, other have not and some owners have waited to bring back indoor dining regardless as a safety precaution.
Gordon Ramsay has announced the time for indoor dinning is now.
One of those owners has been Ramsay. But now according to Delish, the Hell’s Kitchen mastermind has announced via his Instagram that indoor dining will resume at all of his over two dozen restaurants beginning next week.
The post includes a visual feast of just some of the dishes available at Ramsay’s properties along with the words “”Guys …. just ONE WEEK until we can welcome you back indoors …. We can’t wait to see you!!”
The news will no doubt be welcomed by foodies everywhere. Many of Ramsay’s restaurants are also travel destinations so finally being able to go to a place like Las Vegas and have his iconic Wellington while sitting inside should help make any trip worth it.
There is still a long way to go and not every restaurant will begin hosting dining inside just yet, but this announcement from Gordon Ramsay is a really big deal and a step in the right direction. And who knows? Maybe someone will decide to get vaccinated if it means they can now have a meal in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
Weirder things have happened.
