Do you still have to wear face masks at Chipotle?
By Sandy C.
Foodies, expect changes ahead! With new updates on mask policies, what’s the rule at Chipotle? Do you still have to wear a face mask inside? What about employees?
Each week, mask policies and social distancing rules are updated. Or so it seems. As more and more people get the vaccine, the CDC is changing a few things — and fast food restaurants and businesses are listening closely!
As Yahoo! Finance reports, the CDC has announced that those who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask outdoor OR indoors. Social distancing is also no longer required. What does this mean for Chipotle? Have the policies changed there? Do we have to wear a mask while ordering our favorite Bowl or Burrito?

Starbucks and Chipotle are two of the food business to make these updates, and we’re thankful! The sooner we know, the better. Not to mention, it’s so confusing! Do we leave our mask in the car or bring it with us? Best to just carry it with you, just in case!
Are masks required at Chipotle?
According to a letter from Chipotle, the restaurant is giving customers the option to leave their masks in the car. That’s right, you have the option to wear or not wear your mask while inside.
It’s always nice to have options, but how do you feel about it happening this soon? Are you fully vaccinated or waiting a little longer?
Chipotle employees, though, still need to wear a mask, the note highlights. And this is only in states and locations that allow businesses to make their own rules.
Other businesses that have updated their mask policy include Trader Joe’s, Target, Walmart, CVS, McDonald’s, and Costco. These businesses have the option to wear masks.
How do you feel about this update? Is Chipotle is making the right? Will you be wearing a face mask?
