Last Sunday Worst Cooks in America: Best of the Worst named their Season 22 winner and it was Red Team member Sadie Manda. The victory gave Chef Anne Burrell her thirteenth win in the history of the series, besting first-time mentor Michael Symon and his pick Domaine Javier.

Now usually when it comes to Worst Cooks in America, the end of a season doesn’t make much of an impact. This isn’t Top Chef where the winner will go on to great things in the culinary world. Most of the time the winner goes home, fans all hopefully had some laughs and we wait to see who will mentor the Blue Team when the next season is announced.

However, it’s looking like the Season 22 finale is giving a lot of fans serious feelings. Lots of serious feelings. In particular that Sadie didn’t deserve to win or even be in the finale over fellow Red Team member Stephanie James.

If this was Tournament of Champions or Hell’s Kitchen, I could see some fans being upset their pick didn’t win it all. But Worst Cooks in America? Seriously? This is what we’ve come to? Why am I not surprised?

Worst Cooks in America fans flocked to Reddit to voice their displeasure.

According to Mashed, after the finale, the Food Network Reddit thread was filled with indignant fans who were not happy about how the season turned out. From some calling out Sadie for beating Stephanie with a premade burger and potatoes that were undercooked to the fact Sadie said she planned to use her $25,000 winnings to pay off her student loans, fans just weren’t having it.

Now admittedly Domaine was a huge fan favorite and was immensely popular compared to Sadie. It also helped that Domaine said if she won she planned to donate a portion of her winnings to a homeless charity. Gotta pluck at the heartstrings when you’re on television after all.

That all being said, no one can convince me that Sadie didn’t deserve to win. Anne Burrell has won so often for so long for a very good reason. She knows how to get the most out of contestants with very limited cooking skills. Michael Symon’s menu for Domaine was a bit too ambitious in my opinion and was a touch more than Domaine could handle.

And don’t feel that bad for Domaine. Given the reaction to her loss, you can be sure that you haven’t seen the last of her. You can rest assured Food Network is likely trying to figure out some way to bring Domaine back to the network.

So give Sadie a break and let her enjoy her much-deserved win. This is Worst Cooks in America we’re talking about. You’re supposed to laugh and have a good time, not get mad about who lost. Leave that crap for MasterChef.
