The best ice cream in every state
Is there ever really a time that you’re sad when you’re eating ice cream? If you say yes, then you’re either lying to yourself and this entire world, or you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Next up, let’s travel on over to Kentucky and Louisiana for some cool deliciousness!
17. Kentucky
Ice Cream Parlor: Crank + Boom Craft Ice Cream
Flavor Spotlight: Bourbon and Honey
Let’s just say one things here: Bourbon is basically Kentucky’s official state food, so it’s certainly no secret whatsoever that it’s in Crank + Boom’s ice cream in our flavor spotlight over here. Located in Lexington, Crank + Boom uses locally sourced ingredients, and also serves up some other wacky flavors, besides the delicious-sounding Bourbon and Honey one, such as the following: Kentucky Blackberry and Buttermilk!
You can also get a variety of ice cream cocktails! Here are two of them:
- Salted Caramel S’Mores Barrel
- Salted Caramel ice cream, Buffalo Trace bourbon cream, brownie pieces and bits, pralines and cream liqueur, (toppings) graham cracker crumbs, torched marshmallows, hot chocolate fudge sauce
- Coke & Oak Float
- Vanilla Bean ice cream, Barrel House Distilling Oak Rum, Coke
18. Louisiana
Ice Cream Parlor: Creole Creamery
Flavor Spotlight: White Chocolate Truffled Popcorn
To both locals and tourists, the Creole Creamery seems to be the top spot to get ice cream down in the Big Easy! Seems convincing enough to me, right? The decor on the inside is super retro, as is their menu with some classic floats, splits, and sundaes galore that fill the menu!
Want some unique flavors to their establishment only? Here they are!
- Pear & Balsamic Caramel (sounds delish, if you ask me)
- White Chocolate Truffled Popcorn (featured above)
- Grapefruit & Campari (dark red flavored bitters)
Can’t decide what to eat or try here? Get their version of a flight, in which you can choose four flavors to try at once! Name something better than that; I’ll wait….
