Papa John’s is bringing back the Shaq-a-Roni pizza. As reported by Chewboom, the giant Shaquille O’Neal-approved pizza is back after a successful LTO run last summer. It is the type of pizza that soothes my soul.

The giant-sized Shaq-a-Roni can be best described as extra. It is an extra-large pizza with extra mozzarella cheese and extra pepperoni. How can you go wrong with any of that? It also features Papa John’s fresh and never-frozen six-ingredient pizza dough.

The supersized pizza is cut into eight slices which results in Papa John’s largest slice ever. It pizza was developed in coordination with the one and only Shaquille O’Neal himself. It is an obvious relationship with O’Neal also a franchisee and Papa John’s board member.

Papa John’s Shaq-a-Roni pizza helps take care of our hunger and communities

The Shaq-sized pizza not only fills stomachs but is also contributing to a good cause. The company donates $1 from every Shaq-a-Roni sold to the Papa John’s Foundation for Building Community. The foundation helps out great charities such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America, World Central Kitchen, and the UNCF.

Last year, Papa John’s raised over $3 million in sales of the Shaq-a-Roni for the Papa John’s Foundation’s charitable partners. This year they plan on integrating some of the partners into the Shaq-a-Roni ad campaigns. As Shaq put it, “By donating $1 from every Shaq-a-Roni sold, we’re turning a regular pizza night into pizza with a purpose. It’s a no-brainer.”

The Shaq-a-Roni pizza is available beginning on August 16th exclusively to Papa Rewards members. It will become available to the general public beginning on August 23rd. If you can’t wait, Papa Rewards membership is free and relatively painless to sign up.

If you are like me and are ready for a Shaq-approved pizza night, you can get the pizza for a suggested price of $13. Make sure to pick one up soon because it is only available for a limited time. For me, the pizza is worthy of the 30-minute drive to the closest Papa John’s to me.
