Though you can find a good fast food joint just about anywhere in America, there are certainly some restaurants that are considered way better than others, and some that people just have to try because of its popularity. Especially when you’re talking about chains that only exist in some parts of the country, people tend to be envious — and even sometimes competitive — when it comes to what they haven’t tried and what they have. One staple breakfast chain is Waffle House.
The first-ever Waffle House opened up in Georgia back in 1955 and has since become an iconic spot in the south. With food items like their country ham biscuits, peanut butter chip waffles, and their pork chops and eggs breakfast, there’s enough on the menu to make your mouth start to water. And beyond breakfast, Waffle House also offers a lunch menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, and more. It’s a pretty solid fast food chain worth checking out at least once.
Waffle House locations
As mentioned, Waffle House is most popular in the south, but there fortunately are other locations up north. The bad news, however, is that there are no Waffle House restaurants in New York. So if you’re living in the Big Apple like I am, you’ll have to travel a little bit to get to your nearest Waffle House. The nearest location is likely in Pennsylvania, depending on what part of New York you live in.
Currently, the following states in America have Waffle House locations:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Colorado
- Delaware
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maryland
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- New Mexico
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Pennslyvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Virginia
- West Virginia
If you are in New York and are craving a good breakfast, don’t fret. New York has some of the best bagels in the country, so be sure to hit up a local bagel shop or a diner to enjoy a delicious meal.
