In the foodie world, there are two types of people. Those who love Whataburger, and those who think it’s overrated, and the latter are liars. Is the fast food restaurant only in Texas? Which states have a Whataburger aka the best burger joint in the country?

Okay, jokes aside, Whataburger meals are pretty darn good. And am I biased? I live in Texas, so absolutely!

Hear me out, though! I consider myself a very fair foodie. I’m always down to trying the newest food trends and will sample just about anything. When the first In-N-Out Burger opened near me, I was all about it.

While I didn’t line up for hours like many did, I did plan a day to go inside and try the burgers for myself. My honest opinion? They’re not bad, I’ll give it that. The burgers are fine. I do have them here and there (not too often, I’ll admit), but the fries? A huge, NO thanks!

For tasty, quality fries, you need to go to Whataburger. And the vanilla shakes are also wonderful at the burger stop — and be sure you try the cookies, sweet tea, the breakfast biscuits, the chocolate shake, and, well, I’ll just stop there before I list the entire menu.

Which states have a Whataburger restaurant?

Whataburger is not only in Texas, lucky for you! There are several other very fortunate states that are home to a few of these fast food locations.

At the time of this writing, there are 10 states with locations:

  • Texas (with the most locations)
  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • New Mexico
  • Oklahoma

Do you like in one of these lucky states? If not, would you like a location to open near you? Or do you believe you’re not missing out.

Not that this is a popularity contest, but In-N-Out is only in six states (California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Colorado), not as many as Whataburger, maybe there’s not a large demand for it as there is for Whataburger — I’m just saying!
