Starbucks has long been a place with a community feel and the ability to do more than just grab a coffee on the run. It’s where connections are made.

The fact that Starbucks is already a place for the community is why it makes sense that one of their newest ventures is none other than a partnership with Meetup, an app that caters to bringing people together.

So what is Meetup? According to the partnership landing page, “Meetup is a community-building platform that makes it easy to find others who share your interests. Whether you’re looking to find friends to grab lattes with, join a volunteering group, or network with professionals in your industry, there are millions of people on Meetup ready to connect.”

With this partnership, Starbucks is hoping to create more opportunities for people looking to make connections. Whether those connections include making friends or volunteering for a cause, with the help of Meetup, communities around the country will be able to come together, maybe over a cup of coffee, an ice latte, or even a croissant.

Coffee and connections feel like a perfect match, and it makes sense that these two companies would partner with each other. And if you want to get in on forming these connections, all you need to do is download the Meetup app. Plus, if you have the Starbucks app on your phone, there is currently a “learn more” bubble on the home page that gives you even more information on the “Grow your community” initiative. And that is exactly what it is – an initiative.

No matter why you decide to try Meetup, it seems like a perfect opportunity to make new connections while still appreciating a little coffee in your life.
