Instacart reveals which states really love Pumpkin Spice
Instacart is digging deep to let us know exactly which states actually love Pumpkin Spice and the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and even which products they are turning to to get that PSL fix.
The classic Pumpkin Spice Latte or PSL for short is a popular Fall flavor, in many ways thanks to Starbucks. It is the eternal fall flavor in many ways, even gaining enough popularity to end up as not just a coffee flavor, but also the spice of life for cookies, cakes, and even whipped creams. And so it just makes sense that Instacart is doing a deep dive into just how popular or even unpopular this flavor profile really is across all 50 states.
After checking out the results, I will admit that I was shocked by the results. The reason, because for the longest time I believed that the PSL and all things Pumpkin Spice were more of a New England thing. But according to these results from Instacart, the New England states are actually less likely to order Pumpkin Spice products!

So what exactly has Instacart learned about the country’s Pumpkin Spice habits?
"Midwestern and southeastern states are more likely to purchase pumpkin spice products compared to states in the west and northeast, with West Virginia buying the most and Hawaii buying the least PSL-flavored products."
Like who saw that coming? Maybe the Hawaii being at the bottom of the list for snagging PSL flavored products, but West Virginia being at the top of the chart was an unexpected twist for us.
Another major shock was when the searches for Pumpkin Spice really started to surge. In fact, this is not when we thought people were on the hunt for news about the Fall flavor.
"Although searches for the official flavor of fall typically peak in early October, searches for “pumpkin spice” started to surge in late July this year — all while the country was experiencing a massive heat wave!"
When it comes to Pumpkin Spice appreciation, there are so many choices beyond the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte. And thanks to Instacart, we now know exactly which products people are snagging and yes actual Pumpkin Pie Spice is near the top of that list.
Honestly, we love ourselves some Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and learning where it is the most popular in the country has been eye opening to say the least.
