McDonald’s is bringing back the McRib in time for its 40th anniversary
It’s been 40 years of the McRib, and of course that means the celebrate this momentous occasion, McDonald’s is bringing back the fan favorite sandwich for a limited time.
Much like every other time the McRib makes a McComeback, this will not be a permanent addition to the menu. But starting on November 1, fans of this iconic sandwich will be able to get their chew on.
According to a press release from McDonald’s, “The legendary McRib will make its triumphant return to McDonald’s USA menus this fall – you can grab the craveable sandwich beginning Nov. 1 for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide.”
And yes, it really is the same sandwich we remember from years passed. We are talking about a boneless pork patty, perfectly seasoned and coated in a delicious BBQ sauce. It rests between a homestyle bun with slices of tart dill pickles and even sliced onions. Basically, it is the perfect rib meat sandwich for BBQ lovers and McDonald’s fans alike.

When the McRib first made its debut in 1981, it was a regional favorite, satisfying fans in Kansas City, Kansas. After making it big thanks to a movie promotion, the McRib grew to international fame, with lucky customers in places like New Zealand and Germany getting a chance to enjoy this iconic sandwich.
While it will only be available for a limited time, it really is the perfect season for the McRib, and we can’t wait to get our orders in. Of course, you can even get this sandwich delivered thanks to the McDonald’s mobile app, and maybe even earn a free one or at least free accompaniments with the McDonald’s rewards program.
