Chef Robert Hesse was a thrill to watch on Hell’s Kitchen, and along with so many of the chefs from his seasons, earlier and later, he shined in a difficult situation for sure.

It was heartbreaking to see him go through the heart attack that stopped his dreams of winning the competition in season 5, but then he was brought back in season 6, giving him another shot at the grand prize.

Really, Hell’s Kitchen is a tough place to be in. If you’re a cook out there and think that these guys and gals are making it seem worse than it is, you have no idea.

But Robert and a lot of other chefs who spent some time under Chef Gordon Ramsay know a thing or two about dealing with the heat of the kitchen, and this man here knew full well what the heat of Ramsay’s kitchen was all about, and he still went back for a second run. Now, talk about dedication, dear readers.

But I would only learn more about his dedication to professional cooking after chatting with him, and he filled me in on what he’s been up to, his astonishing weight loss story (inspiring to say the least; you must read it), and his restaurant, FO’CHEEZY TWISTED MELTZ in St Pete Beach, FL. Learn all about the place and the other locations in this piece.

But perhaps what shone through, was what shines through every time I speak to these men and women that were put through the wringer on that top show…passion for what they do, and boy does Chef Robert Hesse have passion.

Let’s catch up with Chef Robert Hesse who impressed us on the show, and is impressing these days as well…
