Halloween is a fun holiday on its own. It’s costumes and candy. It doesn’t get more fun than that. But, sadly, we can’t exist on candy alone (I know. I’ve tried). But that doesn’t mean the food you eat needs to be any less fun than candy. With a few tricks (and a charcuterie board…yum), your food (for yourself or a Halloween party) will be ready for the spookiest holiday of the year.

All these recipes are from Sargento so you know if cheese is involved, it has to be good, right? Let’s start with one of the recipes I actually made on my own: Baked Cheese Mummies.

These could not be easier. You just take a cheese stick or string cheese (I used mozzarella), wrap it in crescent roll dough, and bake it. To make it look like a mummy, make sure you have some leftover crescent roll dough so you can cut it into strips and wrap it around the already-covered cheese stick.

You can then use some black icing gel or edible marker to make the eyes and you’re done! Some cheese may ooze out (mine did), but then you have cheese to eat off the pan. These were really good and a much easier way to make mozzarella sticks. Dip them in marinara sauce and they are the perfect snack.

Next up: Witchy Cheese Fingers! These are pretty basic but quite creepy. Once again, you need mozzarella cheese sticks, but you’ll also need green bell peppers, cream cheese, and some sriracha.

First, you’ll want to cut the peppers to look like pointy fingernails. Then use your knife to make shallow lines across the cheese sticks to look like finger creases. Next, use the cream cheese to secure the pepper fingernail onto the string cheese. Dip the end of the string cheese into some sriracha for a “bloody” effect.

We’re sticking to the witch theme with Witchy Broomsticks. Once again, you’ll need cheese sticks. But you’ll also need chives and pretzel sticks. This recipe is more about knife skills than anything else.

First, cut your cheese sticks in half, and then with one half, cut the bottom of it to look like broomsticks. Insert a pretzel stick at the top and then wrap a chive around the cheese stick and knot it (this might take a while lol). This is a fairly simple recipe but it looks pretty cool!

Ok, time for spiders! Don’t worry, not real ones. And yes, you will need cheese sticks for this (I know it’s shocking at this point). You’ll also need to pick up an English cucumber, cream cheese, and black beans or black-eyed peas.

First, cut the cucumber into one-inch pieces and hollow out the inside of each piece. Then cut each string cheese in half vertically and feed 4 halves into the hollow cucumber. This will give your spider eight legs. Finally, use the cream cheese to secure the black bean “eyes” to the cucumber.

And finally, last but certainly not least, the Halloween Cheese Board! I made mine into a charcuterie board with pepperoni and salami but you can really do anything with yours. Sargento uses a bunch of different-flavored cheese sticks, dried apricots, berries, olives, cucumber, grapes, orange slices, and candy corn to add the extra Halloween touch.
