Have you ever been to Hershey’s Chocolate World? Whether the answer is yes or no, there is always something fun to do when you visit. And during our recent trip to the sweetest place in Pennsylvania, we had the chance to shop around, stuff our own Reese’s Cup, and experience some of the unique events that make this a true destination in the heart of Hershey.
Walking into Hershey’s Chocolate World as an adult is a rather unique experience. I went as a kid and I remember loving every minute of it, but I couldn’t tell you anything I did or saw. However, as an adult, I was able to appreciate so much more. And that includes the experience of being surrounded by candy and chocolate.
There is the scent of chocolate everywhere and there are so many colors. It is an immersive experience that can be a bit overwhelming. And yet, it is also magical. (Forget Disney, this is the most magical place on Earth for chocoholics!)
But what should you be doing when you walk through the doors of Hershey’s Chocolate World? Well, that’s up to you and what you love, but here are the three things we absolutely recommend!
3 things to do when visiting Hershey’s Chocolate World
- Hershey’s Unwrapped: A Chocolate Tasting Tour – So while this is definitely more of an experience for children in a lot of ways, it was also so much fun. It was over the top, but also educational. It was a chance to taste chocolate with all of our senses. And at the same time, it was an opportunity to be a kid again in some ways. Plus, how can you go wrong getting to eat candy?!
- Hershey’s Chocolate Tour – This is the most iconic “ride” at Hershey’s Chocolate World. It is an opportunity to learn all about the evolution of the company and their processes. We learn about the town and company history (thanks to the displays and timelines on the wall), and I highly recommend taking the time to read the walls. While there were plenty of people who ignored the literal writing on the wall, that was as big a part of the experience as the ride itself. And it was an epic journey of learning. The fact that it ended with a free fun size bar of chocolate was certainly a win in our book.
- Reese’s Stuff Your Cup – If you are obsessed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups like we are, then you absolutely have to do this. While you don’t actually do the stuffing yourself, there is something fun about picking your ingredients and watching magic happen. Of course, the real experience comes from busting into your one pound Reese’s cup and getting chocolate and peanut butter wasted. It is everything!
Honestly, there are absolutely other things you can do when visiting Hershey’s Chocolate World, especially when they are doing seasonal experiences, such as their Trick or Treat Trail and Trick or Treat Trolley for Halloween, their Holiday Chocolate House, and even Photos with Santa. Seriously, it feels like they have something for everyone to enjoy and we don’t just means kids.
We may be adults, but sometimes we want to feel like a kid again. And walking in the doors of Hershey’s Chocolate World is exactly that – a chance to be a kid all over again.
So, have you been to Hershey’s Chocolate World? What was your favorite part of visiting? What experiences did you take part in while you were there? We want to know.
