Are you looking for a new food related competition to indulge in? Do you love Keke Palmer? Then you need Foodtastic on Disney Plus in your life.

So what is Foodtastic? According to the press release from Disney Plus, this series is an “immersive global competition series in which highly skilled artists create extravagant scene work and larger-than-life sculptures made entirely out of food.” It’s art meets food, and it will be hosted by Keke Palmer, while the experts in food art will be Chef Benny Rivera and Amirah Kassem.

While you may already know who Keke Palmer is, for those unfamiliar with the actress, she is known for her roles in such projects as True Jackson VP, Akeelah and the Bee, Hustlers, and for her upcoming work in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. Amirah Kassem is the founder of FLOUR SHOP, while Chef Benny Rivera is the founder of the NYC based City Cakes.

What to expect from Foodtastic and when to expect it:

We can expect to see contestants making works of art out of every day ingredients. Not only will things like cake and baked goods be used, but butter and vegetables as well. This won’t be our typical competition. This is as much about the art as the food being used to create the art.

And considering this is a Disney Plus offering, we can expect that the creations we see will be based on Disney content. In fact, just with the stills that have already been released, we can expect art inspired by Cars, The Lion King, and UP!, to name just a few.

So when will we be able to start watching Foodtastic? It seems that episodes of the competition series are set to begin streaming on December 15, with the entire season set to release all at once. This means that we can actually binge watch the entire competition in one go, or we can choose to savor it and watch over the course of the holiday season. Either way, we are in for a treat.
