There are just some menu items at McDonald’s that we just want. It doesn’t matter what day it is, if it is a holiday, or even what time it is. Chicken nuggets? Yes, please. A Big Mac with fries? You bet! An Oreo McFlurry? Well, that all depends on the ice cream machine.

But what happens when the holidays roll around and shops and restaurants are shutting down to let their employees celebrate with family? What about cravings for nuggets and French fries?

The big question we have to ask, besides can we get extra honey mustard and ketchup, is whether or not McDonald’s is actually open on Thanksgiving Day.

Will McDonald’s be open on Thanksgiving Day 2021?

Technically, the answer is yes, McDonald’s will be open on Thanksgiving Day. However, there are a few things to note, as Mashed points out.

Among the things to pay attention to are the hours of operation. Considering approximately 95 percent of McDonald’s locations are franchises, their hours will vary across the board. This means that your closest restaurant might close earlier than you are used to.

It is also important to note that some locations may have to close due to staffing issues. So while the majority of restaurants will be open, that doesn’t mean every single one will be open.

Your best bet if you want to start your day with an Egg McMuffin or end the day with a 10 piece nugget meal is to give them a call and confirm their hours.

However, it looks like we are in luck if we want our fast food cravings satisfied on Thanksgiving Day. And we are definitely not mad at that.
