While Hershey Kisses are around all year long, their Bells tend to be a more seasonal offering, available around Christmas. But, while the Kisses are around 365 (or 366) days of the year, they always get holiday upgrades, with special foils to make every holiday special.

In honor of the holidays, we decided we needed bags of Hershey Bells and Hershey Kisses in our lives, especially the Kisses that were taken over by The Grinch himself. But while we remember Hershey Bells tasting like Kisses when we were younger, this year, it seems that they just don’t live up to the nostalgia.

Unlike Kisses, which are always delicious, creamy, and perfectly balanced, the Bells now seem to have a weird coating that completely changes the flavor on first bite. And while the chocolate ends up tasting fine in the end you have to get there, because the first few moments of the Bells just do not live up to the magic of the holidays, whereas the Kisses never fail to satisfy us.

Hershey Bells versus their Kisses cousins

While the Bells look pretty and will still be a part of our Christmas Stocking Stuffers, it is the Kisses that reign supreme in this case. And it certainly helps that the Kisses have never disappointed us no matter which Kisses flavor they are.

From the classic Milk Chocolate to the Almond Kisses and the White Chocolate Swirls, every Hershey Kiss is delicious. Although we miss when the Bells were our holiday go to chocolate, luckily we still have the Kisses to satisfy our chocolate needs and bring the flavor.

In the end, it is the Kisses that come out on top and while we are sad to see the Bells fall, we are happy to know that we still have one of our favorite foil wrapped treats to enjoy this holiday season.
