What were the biggest Tik Tok recipes of 2021?
Tik Tok has a new kitchen hack, recipe, or weird food combinations at least once a week. And 2021 featured a ton of them.
But not all the recipes make as big a splash as the others. So now that the year is coming to an end, let’s take a look at some of the more popular Tik Tok recipes.
Folded Tortilla
First was the folded tortilla hack. This started in January and evolved from there. It started with ground beef, chips, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and shredded cheese, but there were a ton of spin-offs that ranged from breakfast to dinner to dessert. Once the ingredients are added on top of the tortilla, you fold it twice until it’s a four-stacked tortilla.

Salmon Rice
This Tik Tok recipe is one of the easiest you can make. You just take some leftover salmon, flake it up, add some rice, and add an ice cube. Cover it with parchment and then heat it in the microwave until everything is heated.
The ice cube will make sure everything stays moist and the rice doesn’t turn into little hard pieces. From there, you can add vegetables, soy sauce, or anything else you like.
Baked Feta Pasta
This was one of the most popular recipes of the year. I know it was one of the most popular Tik Tok recipes because even my parents knew about it!
Tik Tok users created a bunch of recipes in 2021
To start off, you add tomatoes and/or other vegetables and a block of feta to a dish. Drizzle it with olive oil and any seasonings you like. Bake it until the veggies are tender and the cheese is melty.

While that’s baking, cook the pasta. Once the cheese is baked, add the pasta and mix everything together. You might want to leave out any added salt out because feta is very salty as is.
Ranch Dill Pickles
As a fan of regular dill pickles, I don’t know how I feel about this one, but it was definitely a popular Tik Tok recipe this year.
To make these pickles, you add a packet of ranch seasoning to a jar of pickle spears, shake it, and put it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, you’ll have pickles that taste like ranch.
Do we want pickles to taste like ranch? Is this actually good? I may have to try this one and find out.
Carrot Bacon
Whether you want a healthier bacon option or are a vegan and want a similar flavor, carrot bacon might be just what you’re looking for.
To make this veggie bacon, you peel carrots into long strips and season it with soy sauce, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, and onion black pepper. Once the carrots have soaked up the marinade, bake them at 400 degrees for 3-5 minutes. When they come out, they should be crispy and have a smoky flavor.

Chocolate Bombs
Chocolate bombs were really popular at the beginning of the year. Whether you make your own or buy them, watching them sink into hot milk and then pop back up and split in two to reveal marshmallows, sprinkles, and hot cocoa mix is endlessly entertaining. And delicious once you drink it!
To make these, you brush melted chocolate into silicone molds and put it in the freezer to set. Once the chocolate is set, pop the chocolate out of the mold and fill one half with marshmallows and cocoa mix.
To seal the bomb, pipe some melted chocolate along one side and press both sides together or melt the edge of one side and press the two sides together.
Air Fryer Pasta Chips
This sounds as iffy as the pickles, but let’s take a look. First, you boil pasta until it’s al dente. Then sprinkle it with seasoning and put it in your air fryer to cook until the pasta is crunchy.
The original recipe included parmesan and Italian seasoning and was dipped in marinara sauce but you can do whatever you like.

The other recipes that were popular this year include pancake cereal, pesto eggs, baked oats, Dalgona whipped coffee.
