What are Walmart and Target’s Christmas Eve hours for last minute shoppers?

Do you need to make some last minute runs to Target or Walmart before Christmas? Has Christmas Eve snuck up on you and need a few more gifts?

If either of these things are a yes for you, then you probably already know that both stores are open on December 24. But, just because they are open, that doesn’t mean they are operating with their normal business hours.

And that means we need to know if we can head on over to Walmart to pick up that Pioneer Woman cookware late on Christmas Eve. Or maybe if we can hit up Target for some fun tumblers (looking at you Target-based Starbucks locations).

So what are the Christmas Eve hours for both Target and Walmart?

Christmas Eve hours for Walmart and Target in 2021

According to Offers.com, on December 24, Walmart stores will be open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., which is definitely reduced hours. And that also means that you will need to head to the store early if you want to get that last minute shopping done. (On December 23, the day before Christmas Eve you can shop until 11 p.m.)

And then we have Target. It seems that on December 24, we can actually shop an additional two hours later over the competition (aka Walmart), as they will be open starting at 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., which is also reduced hours, but still later than Walmart. This makes Target the better choice for those truly last minute shopping trips on Christmas Eve. (On December 23, you can shop Target from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., which is the same as Walmart.)

Target and Walmart are making it easy for many of us to get those last minute shopping trips in and we can definitely appreciate them for that.
