McDonald’s announces new Truffle Rich Potato Burger

So for a while it seemed like Burger King was the only fast food chain that was determined to make Americans wish they lived in another country. It seemed they were introducing new and innovative burgers almost on a weekly basis. None of which were available in the States. Now it appears that McDonald’s is getting in on the game.

A few weeks ago right here on Guilty Eats you read about the new Bacon ‘N Crispy Onion Quarter Pounder the chain had released. The catch? It was only available to customers in Canada.

And they have followed that up with another new burger that sounds pretty interesting. It isn’t the kind of sandwich that will appeal to everyone but there are definitely people who would want to try it. Unfortunately they’ll have to travel to South Korea to do so.

It’s being reported by the world travelers over at Chewboom that McDonald’s in South Korea has introduced the new Truffle Rich Potato Burger for the Christmas season. And it looks like it could be a hit.

What exactly is the McDonald’s Truffle Rich Potato Burger?

So what is a Truffle Rich Potato Burger? Glad you asked. The burger includes two beef patties, American cheese, lettuce and tomato as well as home fries. All of that is topped with a rich truffle demi glace as well as another spicy sauce all on a sesame seed bun.

Not enough for you? It also comes in a Truffle Rich Potato Mushroom Burger variety that includes everything on the original version but adds sautéed mushroom to the party.

Now I’m not enough of a foodie to pretend I have had a lot of experience with truffles, but as far as I’m concerned you can add home fries to just about anything and it makes it that much better. So I’d be more than willing to give one of these a try.

You know, if I lived in South Korea and could try one. But since I live in the U.S. of A., I guess that option is out. But hopefully McDonald’s will bring it here for a test run and we can see if the Truffle Rich Potato Burger is as good as it sounds.
