Even though New Year’s Day is technically a holiday, that doesn’t necessarily mean we are taking the day off. Sometimes we have errands to run and groceries to pick up. And that could mean that we need a Trader Joe’s run.

After the holiday rush especially, we need to restock the cupboards and fridge to make sure that we are kickstarting 2022 with all of our grocery needs on hand. For a lot of us, that also means getting our Trader Joe’s fix. After all, they are the home of some epic finds (Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend anyone) and tasty goodies that will make the start of a new year delicious.

But just because we may need a grocery run, that doesn’t mean that we can take that run to Trader Joe’s. And that leaves us with the question of whether or not we actually can go there on New Year’s Day.

Will Trader Joe’s be open on New Year’s Day?

Unfortunately, according to the Club Trader Joe’s store hours page, we are out of luck. That is because they are reporting that the store is closed on New Year’s Day. And while they are open on New Year’s Eve, they actually close their doors early.

So if you want to start the new year with fresh groceries, you’ll have to go early on December 31 because after 6 p.m., you will have to wait until January 2 to get those pantry staples.

While we may be a little sad by the news that Trader Joe’s will be closed, there are still plenty of other options to get our new year shopping accomplished.
