Baskin-Robbins introducing new magic layer bar ice cream as flavor of the month
Baskin-Robbins may be the place of 31 flavors but that doesn’t mean they can’t add new flavors to their lineup. Their new flavor is an homage to the classic seven-layer magic bar and is also the flavor of the month for January.
The Magic Layer Bar ice cream is made up of French custard flavored ice cream, chewy coconut, graham cracker crumbles, and ganache swirled in. The combination of the creamy ice cream with the crunch of the graham cracker, the chewiness of the coconut, and the flavor of the chocolate ganache…how can it be bad? This is a great combination of flavors and textures. And when you put it in a cone…perfection!
If you’ve never had a seven-layer magic bar before, it’s definitely worth trying. Although, you should have a sweet tooth because it’s SWEET. The bar includes a graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butterscotch chips, pecans, and coconut on top.
While the ice cream doesn’t have the butterscotch chips and the pecans, it does have all the other elements. And the butterscotch might have made the ice cream too sweet.

While all those ingredients might work when eating a small bar, when you have a big cone of ice cream, it may have been just way too sweet. It really depends on how big your sweet tooth is.
The Magic Layer Bar ice cream is available now at all participating Baskin-Robbins stores but only for a limited time so get it while you can. It will probably be leaving the menu in January once the Flavor of the Month changes to something else.
And who knows if it will be coming back. If it does, it could be months before it returns.
