We have all heard of the menu hacks that fans create from their favorite fast food items, but now McDonald’s is releasing a limited menu based on fan hacks. It’s what they are calling the Fans-Inspired Hacks Menu, and it features four popular hacks for fans of the fast food chain.

And while we are certainly excited to order these hacked menu items by their hack names, there is a bit of a catch to this whole thing. Just because we can “hack the menu” and get these fan-inspired creations, that doesn’t mean it is McDonald’s putting it all together.

Instead, we can order the menu hack items by their “name”, but it is up to us to actually put these sandwiches together in order for us to enjoy the hack.

So what are the four hacked menu items? And what are their official McDonald’s menu names?

McDonald’s is debuting a fan hacked menu for a limited time

Starting on January 31, fans can head to their closest McDonald’s to order,

  • The Hashbrown McMuffin – Available during breakfast hours only, this is basically a sausage McMuffin that you add their classic hashbrown patty to.
  • The Crunchy Double – This is a Double Cheeseburger that is topped with Chicken McNuggets. And they recommend drizzling their classic BBQ sauce over the top to add a tangy twist to this classic.
  • The Land, Air, and Sea – For this sandwich, things start off with a Filet O’Fish and then bring in a Big Mac, and a McChicken sandwich, making this more than a Double Decker sandwich, this is like a quadruple decker of meats!
  • The Surf & Turf – This is pretty straight forward and takes a Double Cheeseburger and adds the magic of the Filet O’Fish to the party. It’s beef and fish, just like a classic surf and turf dish.

Honestly, this is an exciting opportunity to try something new that you may have never considered before now. But it is also one that you will have to figure out on your own, because while you may be able to head to McDonald’s and ask for The Hashbrown McMuffin or The Surf & Turf, you still have to put it together all on your own to create the magic that the fans did originally.

What do you think Guilty Eaters? Are you excited to Hack the McDonald’s menu? Are you bummed that you have to put it together on your own? We want to know.
