If the new Food Network series Alex vs America has proven anything, it’s that people love to watch Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli cook against just about anyone. To demonstrate that point, the first season of the competition series has been a solid ratings performer, averaging some of the network’s best numbers of 2021.

And who can blame them? Guarnaschelli is an amazing chef. She’s also incredibly likable, confident without being arrogant and endlessly entertaining. Sure, some may agree that some of the intimidation factor may have worn off, but that doesn’t make watching her any less fun.

In fact, if there was one universal complaint about Alex vs America it was that the first season was too short and we would have to agree. At just five episodes, it felt like we were just getting into the series and then it was over.

Thankfully, Food Network will have a chance to fix that. Because the cabler has announced that Alex vs America has been approved for a Season 2.

Alex vs America Season 2 will see more chefs do battle with the ICAG.

Alex vs America Season 2 will give fans more of everything they loved about the first season. Each week Guarnaschelli take on three chefs from different parts of the country with the possibility that the ICAG could go home after the first round.

Host (and Tournament of Champions III rookie) Eric Adjepong will also be back and Season 2 will once again be available to watch both on Food Network as well as the Discovery Plus streaming service.

Before Season 1 premiered Guarnaschelli talked about how she was looking forward to working with Adjepong and taking on a wide variety of challengers.

"“I knew that I had a real passion for competitive cooking when we first started talking about this show, and this experience has turned that passion into a full-on obsession. Getting to work with the charismatic and supremely talented Eric Adjepong is icing on a nearly perfect cake, nearly perfect because as I have said before, I really love winning and absolutely hate losing even more.”"

Food Network hasn’t announced when Alex vs America Season 2 will make its debut, but once they do you can read all about it right here at Guilty Eats.
