As we all know, there are few things better on french fries and burgers then cheese. Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. are well aware of this as are most of the fast food chains in the country. The vast majority of people can’t even fathom a burger without melted cheese on it.

When you add bacon to the mix, it gets even better. However, there are some people who would pass on bacon if it meant they could get their burger and french fries with chili on it. And when it comes to chili, the fast food chains that have it on their menu are few and far between.

It turns out that Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. is looking to change that and change it in a big way. Because according to the press email Guilty Eats received, the chain is planning to go all in on chili with a brand new chili cheese menu they have begun testing in certain locations.

The new menu begins with a new hearty chili that is the centerpiece of the lineup. It is made with fresh ground beef as well as onions, tomatoes, peppers chilis and a mix of spices. It will be features on a pair of new burgers as well as french fries.

The Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. chili cheese menu is only available for a limited time.

The first burger in the chili cheese menu is the Chili Cheese Star. It includes a charbroiled all-beef patty and is topped with chili, American cheese, onion rings and mustard and it is all put between a toasted sesame seed bun.

Next up is the Double Chili Cheese Star which, as you can probably surmise by the name, includes all the same items as the Chili Cheese Star but adds another charbroiled beef patty.

And finally there are the Chili Cheese Fries which, as you have likely guessed, includes natural cut fries covered in beef chili and shedded cheese.

All three items are being tested in different locations across the country. Carl’s Jr. is testing the new chili menu in their Los Angeles and El Paso markets while Hardee’s is testing them in Washington, DC, the Harrisburg/York area of Pennsylvania and the Greenville/Asheville area of the Carolinas.

Will the new chili items be rolled out nationwide? Considering how popular chili is when you mix it with cheese, you would think it would be a no-brainer. But chili fans will have to wait and see what happens.
